Hiring a Temporary Foreign Worker

In general, Canadian employers typically require a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) issued by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) before they can hire a temporary foreign worker (TFW). Once an employer obtains a positive LMIA, the TFW can apply for a work permit through the Temporary Foreign Worker Program.

An LMIA demonstrates that the employer has been unable to find a Canadian citizen or PR for the job and requires a TFW.

We are now Permanent Residents. Thanks to Will Tao, Candy and the rest of the Heron Law team our Canadian dream continues. Our case was complex and somehow hopeless. Prior to finding Will, our initial application was rejected. The next one took forever to be processed, while my application for extension of work permit was denied.
