Last week, I got to speak to Monica O’Brien, a fellow Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) that has been practising for over twenty years and has been a huge advocate for the profession since the early days and continue to be a Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants (CAPIC) volunteer as the Education Manager.
CAPIC is the professional organization for immigration and citizenship consultants. CAPIC advocates for the profession and is committed to promoting and protecting the integrity of the profession and the immigration system.
It was a pleasure to have been invited to record an audio podcast with Monica last Wednesday afternoon. The purpose of the podcast is to learn the stories and advice of fellow RCICs. For the podcast, we focused on three main questions:
- Why did I decided to become an immigration practitioner or enter this field
- Biggest challenge or obstacle and how it was solved or being solved
- Advice to someone new or just starting out
