Bill C-3: How Much Do You Know About Recent Changes to Canada’s Citizenship Act? 

On December 15 2025, Bill C-3, an Act to Amend the Citizenship Act, came into effect. Prior to this change, Canadian citizenship by descent was limited to the first generation of people born or adopted abroad, a limit which was in place from 2009 to 2015.
