AI in Immigration Policy: Will Tao Joins NYU Migration Network Global Panel

Heron Law Offices is pleased to announce that our Founder and Principal Lawyer, Will Tao, is a featured panelist at “AI & Immigration Policy: Global Comparisons,” a virtual panel hosted by the NYU Migration Network.

The panel brings together international speakers to discuss how artificial intelligence is reshaping migration policy in Europe, Australia, Canada, and the Middle East. Will joins Caitlin Chandler (Journalist), Marie McAuliffe (PoliSync Center for International Policy Engagement), and Emre Eren Korkmaz (University of Oxford), with Jared McCormick (New York University) moderating.

Will’s presentation, “The Process Problem: How AI and automated decision-making are reshaping Canadian immigration, and what it means for rights,” brings the Canadian perspective, drawing on his work on IRCC’s use of automation tools. His participation reflects Heron Law’s commitment to ensuring that technology in immigration decision-making remains fair, transparent, and accountable to the people it affects.
